Project
We are looking for a Senior System Architect to join an engineering team developing advanced high-voltage inverter systems and electrified powertrain solutions for the rapidly evolving e-mobility sector. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving system architecture for complex power electronics products throughout the entire product lifecycle. You will act as the technical lead for system-level design, collaborating closely with hardware, software, functional safety, calibration and testing teams to deliver robust, high-quality solutions that meet customer and automotive industry requirements.
Expected competences and knowledge:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive system development, preferably within HV inverters, power electronics or electrified powertrain systems
- Strong expertise in system architecture development and system concept definition
- Solid understanding of high-voltage inverter functions, motor control strategies and electric propulsion systems
- Strong Systems Engineering background, including system integration and requirements development
- Proven experience leading complex technical topics and coordinating cross-functional engineering teams
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Knowledge of Functional Safety according to ISO 26262, including Technical Safety Concepts, SFMEA and FTA
- Experience working directly with automotive customers and leading technical discussions
- Good communication skills in English – minimum B2 level
- Nice to have:
- Experience with Polarion, JIRA, Enterprise Architect and MATLAB/Simulink
- Knowledge of High Voltage (HV) Safety requirements
- Experience working in global automotive development environments
- Strong customer-oriented mindset with ownership and accountability for technical deliverables
Responsibilities you’ll have:
- Define and deliver system architecture for high-voltage inverter and electrified powertrain functions throughout the product lifecycle
- Develop system concepts and requirements considering performance, quality, cost, timing and customer expectations
- Lead technical discussions with customers and act as the technical focal point for assigned system functions
- Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams including Hardware, Software, Calibration, Functional Safety and Testing
- Perform system-level root cause analysis and define effective technical solutions for product issues
- Drive Functional Safety activities, including Technical Safety Concepts, SFMEA and FTA
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineering teams
- Report technical progress, risks and mitigation plans to engineering and project management
- Participate in customer meetings, vehicle testing activities and occasional business travel
