Project
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a project focused on developing and improving an edge-based solution that collects data from devices deployed in retail environments and transfers it to a gateway layer.
The solution will become a part of a larger SCADA system, supporting reliable data collection, communication, and processing at the edge. We are looking for someone with strong software engineering skills, experience in IoT/industrial environments, and a good understanding of edge computing and communication protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software components running on edge devices
- Build and improve data collection and communication solutions between devices and gateway systems
- Develop reliable and scalable components as part of a SCADA ecosystem
- Work with IoT data flows and industrial communication protocols
- Optimize software performance, memory usage, and system stability
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to edge environments
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and domain experts on technical solutions
- Contribute to architecture decisions related to edge software, communication, and system reliability
Expected competences and knowledge
- Strong experience as a Senior Software Engineer, preferably in edge computing, IoT, embedded, or industrial environments
- Hands-on experience working with SCADA systems
- Practical knowledge of MQTT and messaging-based communication
- Experience developing software for edge devices or resource-constrained environments
- Strong programming skills in one or more of the following:
- Golang (preferred)
- C++
- C# or other relevant languages
- Experience with edge computing frameworks (EdgeX Foundry preferred)
- Experience with software optimization, including: memory management and optimization, performance improvements and ensuring application stability and reliability
- Understanding of distributed systems and communication between devices and gateways
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production-like environments
