Project
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a project focused on developing scalable backend solutions for distributed IoT and industrial systems. You will be responsible for designing and building high-performance services that enable reliable communication, data processing, and integration across modern cloud-native environments.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to design scalable microservices, optimize system performance, and deliver reliable software that supports business-critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Rust
- Build and evolve microservice-based architectures
- Develop scalable and resilient services for processing and exchanging data across distributed systems
- Design and implement event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka
- Work with Redis for caching and high-performance data access
- Deploy and maintain applications running on Kubernetes
- Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing solutions
Expected competences and knowledge
- 5+ years of experience in backend software development
- Commercial experience with Rust
- Strong understanding of microservice architecture and distributed systems
- Experience working with Apache Kafka
- Experience with Redis
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications
- Good understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous communication patterns
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Good communication skills and fluent English
Nice to have
- Experience in IoT, industrial systems, or edge computing
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers beyond Kafka
