Project
We are looking for a Hardware Production Support Engineer – Mechanical to join our engineering team and support global manufacturing plants in solving complex mechanical and thermomechanical production challenges.
In this role, you will act as a key technical interface between manufacturing operations and Product Engineering teams, ensuring effective problem resolution and continuous improvement of product reliability. You will analyze production issues, coordinate technical investigations, support containment activities, and drive sustainable corrective actions.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical design engineers, manufacturing engineers, simulation specialists, materials experts, and reliability teams to identify root causes and implement robust solutions that improve product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
Responsibilities you’ll have:
- Analyze and resolve mechanical and thermomechanical production issues across global manufacturing plants
- Act as the technical interface between Manufacturing and Product Engineering teams
- Perform root cause analysis and support implementation of effective corrective actions
- Investigate mechanical design, assembly, tolerance, structural, and reliability-related issues
- Support Design of Experiments (DoE), validation activities, and failure investigations
- Evaluate mechanical interfaces, tolerance stack-ups, material behavior, and manufacturing process impacts
- Collaborate with design, simulation, materials, reliability, and manufacturing engineering teams
- Assess supplier changes and their impact on product performance and reliability
- Document technical findings and communicate recommendations to global stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing lessons learned into engineering standards and processes
Expected competences and knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing support, product development, or similar roles
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with root cause analysis, failure analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies
- Experience supporting Design of Experiments (DoE) and engineering investigations
- Ability to translate technical findings into practical design and manufacturing improvements
- Understanding of materials behavior, mechanical interfaces, and product reliability concepts
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within global cross-functional teams
Nice to have:
- Experience in automotive electronics or power electronics products
- Background in mechanical design, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, reliability, materials, or failure analysis
- Knowledge of thermal management, Thermal Interface Materials (TIM), and durability testing
- Familiarity with automotive quality processes, including APQP and PPAP
