Project
As a Electrical Hardware Production Support Engineer, you will act as the key interface between manufacturing plants and Product Engineering teams, performing engineering analysis, coordinating investigations, and supporting root cause identification and corrective actions. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to improve product robustness, manufacturing efficiency, and reliability across automotive and eMobility solutions.
Responsibilities you’ll have
- Perform first-level engineering analysis of production issues following initial manufacturing and CPE investigations
- Serve as the primary engineering interface between manufacturing plants and Product Engineering teams
- Analyze electrical behavior and performance under varying production, environmental, and system operating conditions
- Support rapid containment activities and recommend appropriate escalation paths for process, design, supplier, or mixed-origin issues
- Define, coordinate, and support Design of Experiments (DoE) activities to identify and isolate electrical contributors to failures
- Evaluate component variation, electrical tolerances, operating margins, and derating considerations
- Support investigation and resolution of issues involving power semiconductors, gate drive circuits, power supplies, passive components, and electronic control hardware
- Collaborate with electrical design engineers, simulation specialists, EMC experts, validation teams, and reliability engineers
- Assess the impact of supplier changes, PCNs, obsolescence notifications, and alternative component sources on product performance and robustness
- Support root cause analyses using structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, DoE, and statistical analysis techniques
- Document technical findings and communicate recommendations to global engineering and manufacturing teams
- Drive incorporation of lessons learned into design guidelines, engineering standards, DFMEAs, and best practices
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality, production efficiency, and reliability
Expected competences and knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, power electronics, manufacturing support, product development, or related disciplines
- Strong understanding of power electronics, electronic circuit behavior, component variation and tolerance analysis, and electrical performance under real-world operating conditions
- Experience with production testing, characterization, validation, or failure analysis
- Familiarity with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone Analysis, and Design of Experiments
- Ability to analyze technical data and convert findings into practical manufacturing and engineering actions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional global teams
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple technical investigations
Preffered Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in automotive electronics or power electronics products
- Experience in power electronics, hardware design, validation, test engineering, failure analysis, or manufacturing support
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations or production launch activities
- Familiarity with semiconductor-based power conversion systems
- Knowledge of automotive quality processes and APQP/PPAP methodologies
